The author is excellent at pulling the readers in and keeping them entertained from start to finish. This novel sees the destruction of Raccoon City, the machinations of Trent being realized, and the obliteration of Nemesis monsters. Read it.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A Great Read for Any RE Fan!By CustomerI'll start off by saying that I'm a huge RE nerd. I love this stuff and the novels by Mrs. Perry are amazing and I recommend them to any RE fan. I first read these books right after RE0 was released on the GameCube. I also recommended these be released on the Kindle about ten times over the past two years, so when they finally did I snatched them all up on their release dates!Resident Evil: NemesisIf you've played the games then I would recommend that you read these books in numerical order (making RE0 last). There are some discrepancies between the books because the RE universe has been tweaked and updated for clarification over the past fifteen or so years. Mrs. Perry does mention this at the beginning of her books and for the most part they still flow together nicely and don't take away from stories at all. She did an amazing job with this series and I think anyone who loves RE will love this book. The author covers all the major plot points and adds a little bit of a background story (and character (Trent)) to string the novels together. In this particular book since it's mainly viewed from Jill's perspective she was able to leave just about everything from the game in the book. I highly recommend this book and it is personally my 3rd favorite in the series.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great Writer, Great NovelizationBy MorganI'll just get this out of the way at the start: everybody knows that the writing talent of authors who do spin-offs and tie-ins usually leaves a lot to be desired. Stated more directly, the writing is usually pretty bland and unimaginative. So I was very pleasantly surprised when I discovered that S. D. Perry does not fall into this category of under-talented writers. She's good, good enough that I finished the book, which I usually don't do when I buy the occasional spin-off novel. She does not deliver a simple bare-bones narrative of the events of Resident Evil 3, but rather a fleshed-out exploration of the story behind the events. She's great at bringing the characters to life and getting inside their heads. We get to see what they are thinking and feeling, to become acquainted with their motivations, doubts, fears and strengths. She's also very good at painting a picture with her words, bringing the undead and mutant horrors of Racoon City into stark relief on the picture screen of my mind. I plan on reading some of Perry's other Resident Evil novels and I would suggest you do the same.
