WoehlkRadiate completes the Lightless trilogy in superior fashion, with a conclusion that is at once structurally and emotionally satisfying. Radiate follows Ananke through a path of self-realization to an inevitable point of no return, where her mother, Althea, must make a major, irrevocable decision. The man whom Ananke sees as her father, Matthew, pairs with Ivan through multiple dangerstogether and separatelyheading toward this final decision. Higgins has written a masterful novel steeped in science and populated with well-drawn characters whose humanity the reader will recognize and identify with right through the ending; her writing shows maturity, attention to detail, and stylistic cogency. Radiate concludes the Lightless trilogy in excellent fashion. Surely Radiate as well as the entire trilogy is eminently Hugo- and Nebula-worthy.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great ending.By AudioReaderReally loved it. I agree with another reviewer about book two. It was almost not necessary. Book three was fantastic.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy T from NYCPage-turning conclusion to the trilogy. Creepiest sentient computer since HAL in 2001--creepier than HAL, in fact. Five stars.
