It was definitely not as intricate or developed, but then again Tom Clancy was Tom Clancy. Years ago when this book came out I blew it off as too far fetched. Today, in 2017 it's hard to believe this kind of thing is far fetched anymore. 1998 impeachment, 2000 presidential tie, 9/11/01, the invasion of Iraq and the 15 years of political debate over it, the 2007 global economic apocalypse that was avoided, Arab Spring, civil war in Egypt, Libya and Syria sent into yrs of anarchy, and through it all private contractors got more and more business. I don't see a coup in the nation's future, but after the 2017 election....it's not unimaginable. Yes, the characters could be developed more, and the high school 'he was good in bed' repetition could have been reduced, but the theme is good, the tech is very good, and in the end it comes down to the simple question of did I enjoy it? Yeah, absolutely! It was a fun read, and well worth buying imo1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An almost "Clancy-like" thriller but....By HoracioAlthough this was not really-really written by Clancy himself, the story left me for wanting more in what appears to be the "norm" nowadays whenever sequential books are planned. In this instance, the author left me wondering just what the heck is going on especially with the main protagonist-pilots and what the government will plan next, read this, the author is planning next. It is a good summer-read, but for sure it doesn't grasp the readers interest like a "real" Clancy written novel.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy JazzLoved the story
