The guy I read Tom Clancy Cussler is hard to beat Daily MailAbout the AuthorClive Cussleris the author of more than fifty books in five bestselling series, including Dirk Pitt, NUMA Files, Oregon Files, Isaac Bell, and Fargo. His life nearly parallels that of his hero Dirk Pitt. Whether searching for lost aircraft or leading expeditions to find famous shipwrecks, he and his NUMA crew of volunteers have discovered more than seventy-five lost ships of historic significance, including the long-lost Confederate submarineHunley, which was raised in 2000 with much press publicity. Like Pitt, Cussler collects classic automobiles. His collection features more than eighty examples of custom coachwork. Cussler lives in Arizona and Colorado.Jack Du Brulis a graduate of the Westminster School and George Washington University. Du Brul has climbed Masada at noon, swam in the Arctic Ocean off Point Barrow, explored war-torn Eritrea, camped in Greenland, and been gnawed on by piranhas in the River. He lives in Burlington, Vermont. From AudioFileJuan Cabrillo is off the coast of Africa with the crew of the OREGON, a high-tech undercover combat ship for hire, when he becomes entangled with beautiful Sloane Macintyre. With their combined resources and determination they seek a lost fortune in stolen diamonds. The treasure's dark history is matched by the fanaticism of an influential environmental terrorist. Narrator Scott Brick is well suited for this testosterone-laced tale of tough guys. His voice projects barely restrained intensity, like a street-fighter looking for any excuse to start throwing punches. Unfortunately, Brick's British and African accents are not as strong as his solid narration of the main characters. N.M.C. There are other authors I really like too, but, Cussler's books ALWAYS keep me riveted. I am a prolific reader; most, if not all of his stories leave one with the visualization of having been there or could be there, in the future. All books have some kind of a prolog, that really get you to want to find out how its going to go or end...0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Sub-par EffortBy Terri StroupI have read all of cussler's books. His books start with an historical incident or "hook".He starts with a good prologue in this book and then seems to forget about it until the end of the book...Terrorists and high tech carry the story along, but seemed to bog down the easy reading and continuity of the plot..Go back to the earlier Dirk Pitt novels and enjoy them again..they are much better written and what i have enjoyed in cusslers novels.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I love it when a good plan comes together...By David P MancusiThis is my third book in the Oregon series. I love how the main characters are always better prepared than the people they're up against. Having read many Clive Cussler books this is not abnormal for his characters but the formula works. The last 100 pages I read in a couple of hours as everything came together. Very enjoyable! Thanks Mr. Cussler!
