The story was okay for a novella, but the production quality was very poor. Spelling, grammar errors, and continuity failures abound. In one passage, a guard is sitting at a desk in a hallway in front of the armory. Morgan lept over the desk at the guard, but the phrasing said "...He grabbed the edge of the bed..." Really? In a hall? Simply one example.I know these are quick money makers and I don't mind the expense for the diversion, I really don't. I have enjoyed Mr. Maloney's work very much in the past. I'm reading the last book I missed in the series next, number two. (Thanks Kindle for making the list "... hide titles you own..." work correctly. Nice feature when they change covers and you can't recognize what you previously read.) Didn't the author have the chance to read the Kindle release? His standards are normally much higher.Mr. Maloney, if it's a question of a dependible editor and final proofer, send it to me. I'll do it for free, or at most, dinner. I edit a small weekly newspaper outside of KC. I'm a retired police detective and I have plenty of free time. You're better than this, sir. Your people let you down, and they let us down. The previous books in this serious have been great, well built story linesBy BrianThe previous books in this serious have been great, well built story lines, good character development, well edited. Not so For Duty and Honor. There was no connection to previous stories, which in a series is nice to continue to tie things together. This could well have been a stand alone book as the story only glanced at past books briefly, with no real impact on the current book. The story never felt fully developed, jumps right into the action with no backstory whatsoever, only providing a glimpse into the backstory at the very end. But perhaps my biggest disappointment with this book was the editing. Misspellings, poor grammar, just annoying errors that could have been overlooked with a good story. Unfortunately, those errors only amplified the issues I had with the story. Hopefully the next book will address these issues...otherwise this series will no longer by in my "must read" list.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Patriotism and Sacrifice !By CustomerI just completed reading Leo Maloney's latest book, "For Duty and Honor", and found it to be a masterpiece of intrigue, deception, patriotism and sacrifice, that only Dan Morgan, an American Hero, can bring to life so vividly. From the first line of the book to the last, I found myself riveted to my chair, unable to put the book down. Just when you think you have thing figured out, you discover that the story takes a ninety degree turn, further riveting you to your seat. The twists and turns, the vivid descriptions and the humanity within, makes the storyline more realistic and exciting. Some of the characters, such as Alex, are evolving with every new release and I look forward to many more to come. I've read all of the Dan Morgan books and find "For Duty and Honor", to be one of Leo Maloney's best, right behind "Termination Orders, his first release. I have had the privilege of listening to and meeting him, and his lovely wife, at his previous book signing presentation in Florida, and came to the realization that it takes someone very special to choose such a dangerous career.Mr. Maloney, I salute you and Thank You for all that you have sacrificed for our Freedom!Chuck Almasy,Florida
