But Brock has a secret even Jared doesn't know about- Brock has a family he has hidden away to protect them from the evil he deals with on his job. Sarah and the girls are his life. And then the phone call comes. His family has been kidnapped. If he tells Jared, they die. Brock makes the decision to comply, even though it means he is betraying his teammates and putting Sugar' s life on the line. But when the terms of getting his family back change, Brock goes to Jared and admits all. Now his family is safe, but they have left him. He is alone and drinking himself into a stupor. When some of his friends from Titan show up and pull an intervention, Brock has a choice to make. Get sober and go after Sarah or continue with death by alcohol.While this novella answers the questions about Brock, Sarah is very prominent in the storyline. She is not the complacent stay at home mom she was pre-abduction. She has PTSD, she doesn't want to go back to her "safe" life, and she isn't sure she even knows the husband she thought was a superhero.Cristin Harber does not disappoint. A fantastic follow up for Brock and Sarah!By Shelley HaaseGambled is a Novella in Cristin Harber's Titan series. It should definitely be be read after Westin's Chase as it picks up after the events which occured in that story. It continues to be packed with action, suspense and combustible chemistry.Brock Gamble's life is in the ultimate tailspin after his wife and children's abduction. Though he ultimately got them back and they were safe, the lies and deceit he had to construe have left him alone. Bad decision after bad decision led him to ultimately betray his family as well as his trusted team at the Titan Group.In a last ditch effort to win his wife back, he persuades her to take an exotic vacation. His only hope is to reclaim his marriage. But when duty calls and he is the only one who can help, he must make a pivotal decision.I love that there was a follow up to Brock's story after his ultimate deceit. I can't wait to read more from this amazing series!PS- The audio version of this book only enhanced Cristin's brilliance as an author. Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job of narrating this incredible story.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Loved it!By Michele S.Cristin Harber hits it out of the park again! I loved Brock and this novella so much. I loved how Ms. Harber took Brock, who could have been portrayed as the villain in this situation, and gets the reader to empathize with him. To see him as a man in an unthinkable situation who made mistakes all in the name of keeping his family safe. As the reader, I found myself rooting for him to get his family, his friends and his job back. Kudos to Ms. Harber for making me fall for a man whom I probably should have hated.And did I mention how hot Brock is? That scene in the back of the truck with Sarah? Wow! I needed a cold drink after reading that scene!I loved how the men sorted their s*** out. Jareds means of revenge on Brock was priceless.I loved everything about this novella and desperately want Brock back on Team Titan! This is a must read for fans of the Titan Series and romantic suspense.
