He uses various voices and inflections for each character. I did not expect the ending at all. The only reason I did not make it 5 stars is because this type of story is not my favorite, but I felt it was important for me to be familiar with its historical content and the plight of the characters during that period of time.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. dated but it's still a great bunch of storiesBy bksculptThe attitudes are, of course, dated but it's still a great bunch of stories. I appreciated the original illustrations which are beautiful and a long way from the Disney art. In fact, I purchased this book to reacquaint myself with the "real" Jungle Books after going to see the latest Disney version ( a great improvement on the first animated version but still taking a number of liberties with the book).1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. It's so beautifully written, every word, every sentence jumps off the page in living color and it's such an incredibly beautiful experience. This is going to become one of my favorite books ever.
