"Gervais brings back covert agents Mike Walton and his wife, Lisa, in this stellar follow-up to THE THIN BLACK LINE.... The personal stakes involving his protagonists and almost nonstop action keep the pages turning; his improved prose style reveals that Gervais is a thriller writer to watch. The next book in the series can't come soon enough." (Library Journal, September 15, 2016)"A RED DOTTED LINE reminds us of what thrillers are supposed to be: thrilling. Gervais, a former anti-terrorist agent, knows the world that he writes about and illuminates the dark threats we all face on the global stage. A RED DOTTED LINE will entertain, educate, and engage even the most jaded reader of international thrillers." (Nelson DeMille, New York Times bestselling author)"A RED DOTTED LINE is a taut and intelligent thriller chock full of excitement and authenticity. Simon Gervais shows off an expansive range of knowledge and an equally remarkable ability to keep a complex story moving along at a breakneck pace. Most authors have to get help from experts in this type of espionage thriller...but Simon has lived these experiences and writes from his first hand knowledge. From the first page he draws you in to this story. In only his second full-length book, he is becoming a master of this genre. He is able to tell 2 or 3 stories at the same time and then wrap them all together, like Tom Clancy showed the world how to do. I do most of my reading while working out on an elliptical machine for 90 minutes a day. Some books seem to drag on and make the time go so slowly, but others make the hour and a half zip by. This book is one of those which make the time fly by. The action is so fast paced but yet is quite readable without too much technical depth that some authors feel the need to share. Another great thing about him is that he answers all email and facebook comments and questions. If you want to know something he'll tell you. I sure hope that I can meet him for coffee some day, because I have some questions that you can't put in writing! I do recommend that you read his first book before you read this one. You will have a much better understanding of the characters and their relationships.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. And the Israelis lend a hand.By Jeff BenhamIf you like action, and lots of it, this is a guaranteed winner. #2 in the Mike Walton series after The Thin Black Line and the novella, A Long Gray line. Mike is a covert operative for one of those alphabet soup organisations (IMSI) that is secretly funded by the government so they can disavow any knowledge in case things go haywire. The Sheik is one nasty dude. He attempted the assassination of Mike's boss and kidnapped Mike's father a couple years ago. Now he is working with the Russian President to introduce a virus strain into the US. It is just too much action to put into a review and not have spoilers!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Another thriller from Simon GervaisBy SHEILA R BEITLERAnother winner from Simon Gervais. His Mike Walton character and family are written so well it's like you have your own personal heroes saving the world. The action is non-stop, with many, many, twists and turns that leave you breathless. You come to care so much for these characters and their mission(s) that it's hard to put down to see how they fare. And, as a good written novel should be, all is not what it seems. This 2nd novel in the Mike Walton series is every bit as good as the 1st. Can't wait to see where these characters (and Gervais) lead us on their next mission.
