So much has changed for Jack and Bear, but they have to complete a "hit" they thought they did 10 years ago. Turns out they shot the target's twin sister. There are so many twists and surprises; the story is wonderfully complex! Bear is still taking care of Mandy and is in love and soon to be married to Sasha. Jack is still on the run and his daughter is being taken care of by his brother and family. Both Bear and Jack just want to have "normal" lives. Is that even possible for 2 former CIA assassins/mercenaries? The Jack Noble stories stand alone well, but it is more fun to read them in order. L. T. Ryan does it again with this fast-paced Jack Noble page-turner that kept me reading all through the night. Even when I was three-quarters into the story, I could not see what was coming next. There is no way I will reveal plot details other than to say it is an extremely satisfying tale that sees some of the old gang reunited; and in such a manner as to suggest they are poised to spill onto the pages of the next great adventure. My enthusiastic and unconditional recommendation for a great read.For those who stumbled across this chapter in Noble's life, I highly recommend that you read the entire series. Ryan.By Ellen TrammellJack Noble and Riley "Bear" Logan are once again in a "fine mess" with so many twists and turns it makes your head spin and you don't want to put the book down. I highly recommend Deadline to anyone who likes mysteries, especially ones with covert operatives. This is the newest book in the series and can be enjoyed as a stand alone. I urge you to get all the books in the series as I have, however. I promise you won't be disappointed.
