About the AuthorOn December 12, 1978, a baby girl name Tomeka Mitchell was born at MCV Hospital in Virginia. Tomeka was then raised by her mother in one of the worse projects in Richmond, called Afton Ave. This is where she attended the school of hard knocks, learning street economics, while dropping out of public school. Tomeka always wanted to do the right thing, but living in a particular place with particular people it was hard to focus on doing the right thing with out getting caught up into doing what was wrong, however, Tomeka managed to gain strength and determination in areas where her life depended upon it. In the year of 2005 Tomeka lost a baby to an ectopic pregnancy, which encouraged her to write Inspirational poems, prayers and then short stories. Later on that year Tomeka was awarded custody of her two nieces. That's when she decided to attend public schools again, an although she was to late to obtain a diploma she still managed to obtain a GED in 9 weeks making her eligible to Graduate with the class of 2006.
