No really I think the first book of his I read may have been The Book of Hours. The characters are believable and I love the fast-paced adventures his characters find themselves in. I love that he uses current world and political problems as the backdrop of his plots. You can see the greatness of God and His plan in so many of the stories, characters, and plots. I truly feel that I learn something current from each book I read. In Unlimited the reader is taken to Mexico and learns of the problems there. The corruption exists but so do people of God seeking to help and make a difference for the good of their neighbors. I won't say I understood all the technical parts of the book, but the reader doesn't have to understand them in order to understand the book. I didn't realize there was a movie until the end of the book...but hope to find it and see it soon!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. a unique and honest analysis into the human soul in regard to our true potentialBy ShadowplayUnlimited is a unique and honest analysis into the human soul in regard to our true potential. The story takes us on an unbridled journey in examining the human view of potential versus Gods perspective. While we have such a hard time believing that we are worth anything after we have failed, God continues to see us as valuable. He reaches out to give us the courage we need in order to turn our lives around to follow Him. Only through Gods steadfast grace can we be confident in our worth through His eyes. This story burrowed deep beneath my skin and pricked my heart over and over again. It was serious in its tone, merciless in its passion, and above all it was unwavering in its message of hope and love. Unlimited is not a story to be taken lightly. It rings of more truths than one person can absorb in its initial reading. Only upon careful reflection does it become transparent how powerful yet gentle the themes in this book are. It will both devour and envelope you in its arms of strength and compassion. Your heart will not be the same after this journey has run its course. The amazing and unforgettable characters in Unlimited made this story great. Through them, Davis Bunn succeeds in burning his message into your soul. Each one is essential to the development of the plot, and you will find yourself drawn in by their strength, wisdom, and perseverance. I know that you will come to care for them as much I did.For anyone who wants to be challenged, I highly recommend Unlimited. This story is not for the faint of heart, but you will never regret that which it will awaken in you. The heart and depth within the pages is astounding not something you will forget. I hope that you will open your heart to the truth that God will lay at your feet. He desires us to keep moving forward in our walk with Him for when we stop and stand still we begin to wither and fade, so please keep moving.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Unlimited power, unlimited passion, unlimited forgivenessBy Shari A. BradleyDavis Bunn's "Unlimited" leads you into the hearts and lives of the vulnerable and the lost, the tragic and dirty truth of the border drug wars, the thrill of invention, the passion of those who are called to serve, and the grace and forgiveness only experienced through a relationship with a loving Savior. An exciting read, always anticipated and always enjoyed from this gifted author. I hope they consider a sequel. There is much yet to know about these compelling characters, and the battle against the darkness continues. As another reviewer posts here, this book - although very entertaining - took me a while to fall into, so to speak. Once I did, it was a great ride. Worth buying, worth reading. If you are new to Davis Bunn, please do yourself a favor and read all of his other books - you will be so glad you did!I received a complimentary copy of this book from BH Publishing Group in exchange for my honest review.
