What else can I say? The story was well thought out, with elemental threads running through all three books, The characters were well developed - deeply flawed and still likable. For those who are reading this with no clue about the book, it's centered around two protagonists who's fates are relentlessly entertwined. The book is written from the POV of each of them, in turn, by the two authors Mike Kupari and Larry Correia. The tale is about world events that are *just* a little off from our own 'real world' and are close enough to reality to be a little scary - unrest in the middle east, benevolent mercenaries working to free slaves, and of course, a desperate attempt to save the world. Start with Dead Six and then Swords of Exodus - Alliance of Shadows is the conclusion. I enjoyed the heck out of it!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. After the finish of Swords of Exodus I'd had great expectations for where this series was goingBy Peter StewartI'm so torn on this. After the finish of Swords of Exodus I'd had great expectations for where this series was going, but Alliance of Shadows seems to go the other direction. While Swords expanded the mythology and world, the goal of Alliance seems to be wrapping up as many loose ends as possible. In that it is mostly successful. Some things are never fully explained, but they are resolved in a mostly satisfying way, with the eventual fates of most characters tied up pretty neatly. That may be the only real weakness in the book - it seems to rush along at times in fits and starts trying to resolve everything as part of a finale for the series. It's at its weakest when doing so, given how well both authors set up action.Overall though the entry is what fans have come to expect: blazing action and devious plots aplenty.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I'm a big fan of Larry Correia and really enjoyed this seriesBy Johnny BadhairI'm a big fan of Larry Correia and really enjoyed this series. This conclusion was satisfying, but there was a plot element that was teased throughout the entire series that was never fully developed, and that nags at me. Without giving any spoilers, all I'll say is that it wasn't an important part of the overall story, and I understand why the authors made the choices they did, but I was just surprised that it wasn't developed. As Anton Chekov said, "If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it's not going to be fired, it shouldn't be hanging there." Other than this, the series had an interesting overarching plot, great characters, and was well paced and fun to read.
