I plan to read the other titles in this series (I already have Black Harvest (The PROJECT) on my Kindle). I just found this story not as complex or detailed as a typical James Rollins tale, such as: Map of Bones: A Sigma Force Novel or a Clive Clusser tale like: The Mediterranean Caper (Dirk Pitt Adventure). I would say a typical Rollins book is like a big buget movie, but a PROJECT book is more like a Made for TV movie. A good movie, but with a lower budget to spend on bells and whistles. Very much like comparing Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Special Edition) to the TV movie Librarian : The Curse Of The Judas Chalice. I love them both. The Lance is light thriller reading, and like I said, I will try other PROJECT titles and see if the author progresses as he adds more titles to this series.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. The Fourth ReichBy KarliI love it when I stumble on a series that is well in progress, which means I don't have to wait for the next book to come out. So far, this is one of those series, one that I can't say no to. This book is a standalone that follows on the heels of Book one. The characters are the same, but we have a new storyline. In book one, the Project was up against men set on overthrowing the Chinese government. In this book, it's men with ties to the past, ruthless men whose plan is to start a world war that will position them for world domination. It's a plan initiated during WWII. And a recent discovery in Antarctica has put the plan in play.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fabulous Story, and a Wonderfully Well-written Book!By SheilaIf you're even remotely interested in Germany during Hitler's reign, and the religious artifacts collected from the time of Jesus, and how devastating the mixture of the two could be, then you should read this book. The research and story go together so perfectly, that the whole story seems shockingly plausible. The characters are well thought out, and the events that are in the book are exciting, and brilliantly planned. I loved the adventures, and how the pieces of the puzzle all came together at the end. I enjoyed this book thoroughly. Make sure to read the real facts that were blended so beautifully into the fictional story, at the back of the book after the story ends. The historical background that inspired this book is also quite intriguing. If you miss that, then you've missed some very important facts that give credibility to this interpretation of what might have been.If Hitler's beliefs and superstitions about the religious and magical relics that he collected from around the world had been more useful, and his attempt to create the perfect Arian race had shown more promise and productivity, the world today as we know it, wouldn't exist. How fortunate for everyone, that he failed in those particular endeavors. Thank you, Alex Luckman, for such a wonderful book!
