"Ashley delivers a deeply emotional second installment of the Chaos contemporary romance series (after Own the Wind)... Punctuated by blistering-hot sex scenes and fascinating glimpses into the tough world of motorcycle clubs, this romance also delivers true heart and emotion, and a story that will stay with the reader long after the final page is turned."Publishers Weekly, Starred , on Fire Inside"I adore Kristen Ashley's books!"Maya Banks, New York Times bestselling author"Kristen Ashley's books are addicting!"Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author"[Kristen] Ashley captivates."Publishers Weekly"There is something about them [Ashley's books] that I find crackalicious."Kati Brown, Dear Author"I felt all of the rushes, the adrenaline surges, the anger spikes... my heart pumping in fury. My eyes tearing up when her my heart (I mean... her heart) would break."Maryse's Book Blog on Motorcycle ManAbout the AuthorKristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better. You can learn more at:KristenAshley.netTwitter @KristenAshley68Facebook.com/kristenashleybooks where can i read books for free Jagged (Colorado Mountain)

I'm not sure what was missing for me, maybe I've just read her stories too many times. I liked Ham and Zara but something was missing, spark maybe? For lovers of KA there are no surprises in this book whatsoever and it was very predicable. Still I love her work and it was a fun read. I loved visiting with characters from Gnaw Bone again after The Gamble but Ham and Zara didn't feel very well developed and there was nothing to make them stand out, they were not original. Also I hated him calling her cookie but maybe I've just read Beautiful Disaster too many times.Worth reading but not as good as her other work.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Just Eh...KA usually does betterBy Robin SnyderThis is not Kristen Ashley at her finest. In fact this had a lot of things in it that really bugged me. But still a bad KA book is usually better for me than an okay contemporary romance by most anyone else.~~~ What she did right: ~~~I was a little worried that I wasnt going to be happy about the love interests in this. Reece is from Febs past in The Burg series and she got her HEA with Colt. He was likeable enough in that even though he doesnt get much page time but I was worried that I was going to feel like he was settling for the heroine in this. I DIDNT . I felt like Reece and Zara were always meant to be together and Reece was just stupid when he walked away from her the first time.KA always gives us that great story where you are rooting for the couple to figure out their stuff and finally get together. She toys with our emotions so you arent sure whether to like the alpha male or want to kick him in the nads.I swung hard in both directions in this.*** Seriously, I dont care if feminists hunt me down and burn me at the stake, that man crooked his finger at me, Id follow him into a bank and rob it at his side.***There is that hot smack down moment with someones ex where the hero says something extremely inappropriate and it is really over the top but I totally love it.*** Is there a problem here? A mild-mannered-looking suited man I suspected was the manager entered the situation. No, Im simply having a word with my niece, my aunt replied. Yes, this woman interrupted my wifes dinner in an extremely unpleasant way, Greg contradicted. Shes not your wife, Ham grunted. Uh-oh. Shocking the crap out of me, Greg, with narrowed eyes and anger contorting his face, instantly fired back at Ham, Shell always be my wife. I went still. The table went still. I fancied the restaurant went still as I was pretty certain I watched ice form in a thick layer, crackling and groaning all around Ham. Well shoot. His words were sarcastic but that didnt mean they werent dripping icicles. See Im in a position to apologize since I effed your wife against the wall before we left to come here.****That and kidnappings are sorta my guilty pleasures in a KA story. The side characters from prior books. Max and Nina are highlighted in this one and it totally made me miss them. Nina and Max are hilarious together as the established side couple and added some much needed comic relief to a few scenes.*** Ninas eyes narrowed. Ill remind you, Holden Maxwell, father of my children, love of my life, that we just met Reece and perhaps he doesnt wish to listen to us squabbling. Max looked at Ham. Kiss that good-bye. Well be fightin on and off through dinner. Prepare. She gets riled, were all effed.~~~What She Did Wrong:~~~The Nicknames were OMG horrible. Like so bad. Graham Reece was nicknamed Ham..HAM!!!And Zaras nickname was Cookie. Okay so that is better than Ham but only slightly. So anytime they were calling each other Ham and Cookie in my head were flashes of CookieMonster eating Ham. ANDduring sex OMG I couldnt get into it because every time she sighed harder Ham, Ham Im close or anything else like that all I could do was snicker. They cant all be winners I guess but usually I love the nicknames that KA comes up with for her characters. Whiskey and Snooks are both in my top ten nicknames ever and I totally tried to talk my man into letting me call him Snooks. It was a no go but seriously I expected more I guess. The side drama with Zaras family also missed the mark for me. Usually this is a strong point for KA but while I was a little swept away by the circumstances of Zaras family the whole we have to get custody of my Nephew thing totally missed the mark. 1 It was said before they new if he was in a good or bad situation. 2 They had just gotten together as a couple and BAM lets get custody of a kid who might be happy where he is. Zara still wasnt even sure if Reece (I refuse to call him Ham) was in love with her.It was just a little shotgun in my opinion and I wasnt happy about it. While it all turned out okay in the end and totally went down like it needed to the premise really upset me.~~~Overall:~~~~Still KA knows how to tap dance on my emotions and give me a good ride so while this isnt the strongest book in her arsenal I know they cant all be winners and there was bound to be one that was a dud for me. Still a dud KA book gets 3 stars so how bad could it be.9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. It worked for me. Ham needed Zara, just didn't know it.By Blue Sky DaysI loved this book! My sister and I had a long convo re: Jagged and why we liked it and others didn't like some aspects of it.I liked the mellowness of this book. No super villany bad guys stalking the H/h (yeah her dad is a piece of work but no serial killer!) Just a story about restarting a relationship and what it takes to get there and the usual KA family drama that goes along with most of her stories (one of my favorite parts).Maybe it's my age, but I get it, I get it. You look back on mistakes and past relationships with a different viewpoint once you get into your 30's and 40's (moi). Your expectations change, your plans change, the way you "thought" your life was going to go takes a 180 and you find yourself on a different path with different needs you didn't know you had. It doesn't make what you have "now" wrong or not as good as what you could have had earlier in life, it is just what it is and maybe it's what you've always needed.I loved the journey Ham needed to take to get to where he was and the process in the story that we had to through with Zara to believe that he had changed and WHY he had changed. In the end, I was convinced of Ham's love for Zara and that his love for February was in the past and even if he had gone through with a relationship with Feb it would have never have been as strong as the one he has with Zara.
