FletcherIf you liked the movie Blood Simple by the Cohen brothers, you like this book. If you liked the FX series, Justified, you will like this book. It's like an Elmore Leonard novel that's been dropped on the floor of a dive bar and been stomped on, spilled on, spit on and bled on. I read this guy's first book, A River Closely Watched and got hooked. This one is just as good. I can't decide whether his main characters are bad people trying to do good or good people who can't help doing bad. Its alluring and repulsive. Its cornfed gangster grit-lit with a deeply creative soul. Its barbecued ribs with the finest wine. Its really good sh**. The characters and scene are so well-written, you may feel the urge to scrape the gravel from your shoes, grab a hot shower, and pray to the gods of literature for letting you jump right into the peep show that is this fine story.
