About the AuthorWayne Stinnett is a best selling American novelist and a Veteran of the Marine Corps. Between those careers, hes worked as a deckhand, commercial fisherman, divemaster, taxi driver, construction manager, and long-haul truck driver. He lives on one of the sea islands, near Beaufort, South Carolina with his wife and youngest daughter. They have three grown children, five grandchildren, three dogs, and a whole flock of parakeets. Lots of moving parts, better if you're a retired marine.By CustomerI wanted to love this book, and it did have strong parts.But it was too heavy on military tradition and behavior, Hoooha.Also, there were a lot of moving parts and lots of characters, it's like the author wanted to roll three books into one. Lastly, why did the author give respect to DHS head Chertoff, who turned out to be un-American. (Yes, I toned that down)In spite of the heavy military tradition, the plot has the president going fishing for a day on our hero's boat. The boat is not inspected by the secret service before, and spends the night tied up to a dock unattended. Then, while fishing, the Secret Service detail is on a different boat!Come on!!!Now, the action was great, I loved the Key West parts, the flying, the boating, evidently, this former marine has an unlimited supply of money, and keeps inviting more people to live on his private island.I remember when he built the house himself....my it's grown.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The books are well written, very detailed so much you feel like you are on the mission with the team, on the boats, celebrating the wedding or just hanging out. The Author keeps you on your toes, as to what is going on in Key West surrounding Keys regarding invasion of terrorists. The independence he gives Mr. McDermitt is something many of us would like to have. knowledge of the area, the boats and guns is remarkable. has enough humor mixed with violence that makes the books fun to read. He has a good knowledge of weapons and shares it plain and simple. Good read. My kind of book. Story line is good and not to complex..
