The bad guys were stereotypical for the whole "terrorist" lot. I wish writers would make them more sophisticated instead of the usual bumbling, ill prepared idiots. The main character was interesting and it was nice to have a woman be the protagonist for a change instead of the usual ex-military, testosterone fuled, deeply character flawed, alpha male character so often found in these types of novels. I enjoyed the tropical setting used in the story line and the development of the main characters back story. Nice Intro to a New Action SeriesBy Kindle readerNon-stop action, nice locations, lots of details on sailing. The story picks up once she arrives in Mexico and befriends a local fisherman. I loved the final engagement where she takes out every single bad guy, one by one. Enjoyed reading about the thermal imaging gadgets as well. I'm giving it 4 stars because for me it seems a bit far-fetched for the US government to send a single woman, on a secret mission to Mexico to catch and eliminate a band of terrorists single-handedly, no matter how capable or well trained she may be. But it's very entertaining to watch a female Jason Bourne who can speak English, Spanish, Arabic and can dance as well.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Exciting endingBy Henry WayWay too much detail on sailing around the Gulf of Mexico and way too much detail on how a sailboat is handled. Otherwise a good spinoff of the Jesse McDermitt series, nicely tied into the continuing storyline, maybe a little too much background at first. You really have to read the Jesse story that precedes this novel. You can find the suggested reading list at Wayne's website. I recommend this because you need this background for the next novel in the Jesse series, I think. It seemed that way when I started reading the next and there was discussion about Charity Styles that was not in the previous Jesse novel.
