Meeting your DEADLY match!By Priscilla HornCourt Gentry is forced to match his considerable martial arts and combat experience, and mental acuity and lightning-quick reflexes, against a deadly killer that he once knew from his training days. This novel by Mark Greaney is tense and gritty, but oh-so-readable! The USA's homeland security forces' director has once again gotten Court in his sights, and sends in several teams with his shoot-to-kill orders on Court, along with a psychopathic soldier who has his own hidden agenda.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Gray Man...Best In The BusinessBy rck12Dead Eye is a well structured in depth genre story, about the world's best assassin Court Gentry, also know as the Gray Man due to his ability to stealthily blend into his surroundings. A former CIA employee, who is on the run from his masters, for some unknown reason, similar to the Jason Bourne series. The CIA is intent on eliminating him (collateral damage acceptable), and sends out their best assassin known as Dead Eye, to finally get the job done. He knows Gentry, and was trained by the same people who molded the Gray Man. The operation is run by a greedy contracting company (Townsend) and their professional killers (with all the latest electronics and gadgets), under the guidence of the CIA. Together they pull out all the stops, to find and kill the highly skilled and likable Gentry.I enjoyd the developing characters along the the way, especially the invlovement of Ruth and the Mossad. A fun read that keeps you wondering...along with several twists that turn. Based on the ending, the next installment should be just as good, if not better...but i think the real reason for CIA's 'kill on sight' manhunt, will be unknown for quite sometime.Unlike Mitch Rapp stories, this one is detailed (maybe a bit to much, and at times repetitive), and involved. You need to pay attention( my soft covered book had small tight print) and enjoy the unfolding sub plots. Well constructed Mr. Greaney!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. What makes the difference between Dead Eye and Violator?By Ronaele WhittingtonLots of violence.Detail: At the point that a nine-banger is tossed into Court Gentrys room (approx.. location 1492- 21%), Gentry drops his pistol, grabs his head, closes his eyes. He could barely see. Whitlock grabs Gentrys pistol, and drags Gentry out into the hallway to escape. After the escape across the roof tops covered with snow, Gentry and Whitlock find each other. At this point, it appears that Gentry has a backpack to retrieve a flashlight and later a lock pick ((Approx. location 1782 25%). The missing detail How did either one of them have a backpack in place after the crazy escape? Did Whitlock carry Gentrys backpack as well as his pistol?Detail: ( Approx. location 4490 49%) Gentry thinks about new info regarding miniature UAVs tracking him because Whitlock told him. I believe it is premature to note: Meanwhile, Whitlock had told Court that Townsend had compromised him with a f flying robot. I think Whitlock receives that detail later from a Townsend phone call, and conveys it in a future phone call with Gentry while he is in the bar with Ettinger. Maybe I am mistaken.Despite the details, the story contains creative and violent adventures of the Gray Man who manages to thwart the assassination of the Prime Minister of Israel. By the end, Gentry uses the flying robot to his own advantage, although witnessing more murder in the process. Gentry confronts himself in the persona of Whitlock who does not operate with any moral code except to make big money. Now then, having read the Gray Man series out of order, I need to re-read Back Blast which follows Dead Eye.
