Then it changed. The book began to build momentum and took off! Wow! Great ending , and I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I gave it 4 stars because of the beginning.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Spell binding.By Customer jim KellyThis story keep my interest at a sharp edge throughout. I kinda lost interest in Woods New York series but was presented by this new approach to a recurring theme or should I say thread. If you have read the Chiefs you will find out what I mean.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. the former stuart woods(excuse the commas, quirk in my iPad!)By Judy Lynn BrewsterBecause of,the last boiler plate books by woods, each worse, than the last, I,grew quite, discouraged as he had been one of my go,to,authors. I,can't remember when I,started reading woods, maybe 20 years ago.The last one that may, have interested me was the road trip his son and friends were taking and the,Russian mob. From then on it,has been down hill, laughably terrible, with the Lees and the Arrington, and the lengthy sex scenes that he must think sells his latest books. I was through with Woods and wondered what I had ever seen in him. Then I saw the 25th anniversary of Chiefs. I was spellbound. It was great, so I read this second book.I do know sailing and racing and have been a chef on one of the two first fiberglass boats (72 ft) out of England, owned by a friend of mine. The Galloping Gourmet owned he other one and we began a voyage to St. John in the British Virgin Islands in the early 70's I believe. Beautiful, sail out of mouth of Chesapeake Bay, then hit by a gale that lasted 8 days, averaging 15 knots straight out. Never saw the deck myself for entire 8 days. So,this book did have some interest to me. I may read his 3rd book and another from time to time, going in chronological order. So sad that he can't put together a book that remotely, touches his former works. I assume he has ghost writers and he just signs on as the author. Too bad.
