From BooklistMann and Pezzullos latest novel featuring SEAL Chief Warrant Officer Thomas Crocker and his team has them facing both a terrorist and problems at home. Crockers wife was kidnapped and rescued, but shes having trouble coping. Her husbands assignments take him across the globe, and he cant tell her what hes doing. Imprisonment and torture almost kill Crocker, but determination and a bit of luck keep him alive. Then he learns that the man responsible for kidnapping his wife has been seen. Talk about the perfect opportunity for a guy to rid the world of a terrible human being and bring his own family peace! The military side of the story is spot-on, and the focus on how the world of special ops affects the family left behind makes this novel distinctive. Previous knowledge of the series is not essential to enjoy the tale, the best in the series. At times I thought it wasn't quite moving along but then things happen and it's in gear. There's some pretty harrowing torture and SERE that's no doubt based on his personal experience as he was captured twice in his career.I like reading stories by guys that have BTDT. Some cool tech stuff laced in that may or may not be fiction and just some incredibly daring action.Surprisingly Crocker seems to get the shit kicked out of him a lot in this one but the guy does not stop, very driven.The retired badasses have a much more believable scenario and operational details that don't have me screaming B.S. during the read.The hunt spans several countries as it progresses and ends a little cliche after the op but all in all worth it.Just good entertainment.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. He uses much of his own personal experiences in the stories. Consequently if you read "Inside Seal Team Six", you've already read a good chunk of each story. One thing you don't have to worry about is him miss using military lingo, mixing up rank or using equipment or tactics that SEALs just don't use (like other SEAL book authors.)All in all good stuff and I would buy his next book.
