This story was a page turner.It described how wealthy capitalist selfishly helped Hitler and the Nazis thinking they could control them. The story shows how they were stopped or at least slowed by Elizabeth Scarletti, who knew the terrible secret of Kroeger.I highly recommend this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Total waste of timeBy Rachel Maxwell (rmstuart@compuserve.com)I'm normally a fan of Robert Ludlum, but this book was so poorly edited and the plot so muddled and senseless that it was very frustrating. It jumped around in time and place without any rhyme or reason. The characters were anything but compelling, poorly defined, and in the final analysis, totally uninteresting. There was no build-up whatsoever, it was predictable from the very first page.On top of that, there was a fair bit of dialogue in the book written in German, but quite obviously by someone who doesn't actually speak or understand that language. Or perhaps it was the poor editing again - somebody ran it through a cursory English spellcheck, so that German words were completely mangled and misspelled, and the German grammar was just plain wrong. Even the names of famous streets in German cities were misspelled.Really, it barely rates even a single star. I actually did something I almost never do ... gave up before the end.
