A few are stepping up to the plate to take over what was left behind.Angel and Roc two of Dutch's lieutenants were caught and sent to prison, after a three year bid they both were released on a technicality. Both are back in the streets, Angel along with her lover Goldilocks are trying to uphold the legacy of Dutch, but there is more to Goldilocks than she is letting on. Roc is on the other hand, has become a changed man and is a follower of Allah. Going by the name Rahman, he is trying to clean up the streets to make them safer for the Newark community. Both Angel and Rahman are not down for the same cause anymore and are very determined to stand up for what they believe in. Eventually they will face off, will the Dutch camp be destroyed forever? Who will be the last man or woman standing?Nina has gone on with her life after the death of Dutch. She dives into her career to fill the void that Dutch has left on her heart. She has met a new beau name Dwight, who is a blue collar worker and worships the ground she walks on. She likes Dwight a lot but still has the feelings of what could've, should've, would've if she'd giving Dutch a chance. All of a sudden mysterious things starts to happen, making her go through a thang and even asking her self and even Dutch mother Delores Murphy is he DEAD or ALIVE?Kwame Teague did it again with the pen. Very good writer indeed. The only thing I had a problem with is the clarity of the Muslim words and Spanish words that was used throughout the book. I did learn a little bit about the Muslim religion, which is a good thing. Keep blessing your fans with these dynamite books. Can't wait to read part III.Tangerine, ReviewerReader's Paradise Book Club0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. OMG!!!! Can you spell out F-I-R-E!By NiNiPart I to this trilogy was the bomb; one of the best street literature I have ever read! Therefore, believe me when I say that this sequel follows suit. The drama, suspense, backstabbing, murders and blood are still present and I can still see the scenes play out like a movie. The only con is there is no Dutch. However, do not be distressed, because the two stars, Angel and Rahman, held their own shine.Due to a technicality, Angel, Dutch ride or die chick (not lover) and one Eyed Roc, now Rahman, Dutch thorough hitman, are free after only serving three year of multiple life sentences. Being incarcerated fueled their passion for money, power and respect. Nevertheless, their desire of such things are aimed at two totally different angles, leaving them squaring off on opposing sides. Angel wants the street back to continue the legacy of Dutch while Rahman wants to clean the street and create a new legacy. The question now is can the bond and love that Angel and Rahman once shared as partners help them figure out a way to come to some kind of equilibrium or will they play against one another weaknesses and cause all hell to break loose?I am still trying to understand Nina's, Dutch love quest from part I, point in it all as she seems irrelevant and just taking up space. Guess she will probably play a significant part in the next version. Also, I was hoping that if Dutch would have been in this sequel that maybe he and Angel would have tested the waters because the chemistry and lust is definitely there. Nonetheless, Angel has a new love that seems to be a ride or die chick. Anyway, all and all, 5 stars baby!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. C4, Timbs, Green Mucus MONEY!By Reese WifeDutch II picks up right where Dutch left off. Bernard a.k.a Dutch is presumed dead and with both Angel and Roc doing bids in the pen it leaves Young World, Dutch's protg to run the empire. With Dutch out of the game, everyone is trying to eat. Will Young World be able to rise to the occasion and represent the dragon chain? Or will he be caught with his ass out?Early in the story Roc and Angel are both released from prison on some technicality issues. Roc who is a now a turned Muslim goes by the name of Rahman. Rahman has an entire new agenda, it's about to be a war when certain folks aren't down for the cause. With Angel back to her notorious ways, she finds herself the most respected bitch in the game. Will the two be able to work together or will an all out-war break loose?I gave this book 4 stars, but it's more like a 3.5. I gave Dutch II this rating because the first 80-90 pages were really confusing to me. Maybe it was just me, or that I took to long to read the 2nd installment to the trilogy but it seemed to jump from one character to the next character to often. The story really begins to pick up about half way through the book; once you get to that point the story is GREAT. However, I'd say the last three chapters are the BEST and have so many surprises, it'll have you saying DAMN while running to go pick up #3! I can't wait to see what is in store for the crew now!!!
