StackI recently heard Mcfate speak at a World Affairs Council meeting and was intrigued by his background and experience. Shadow War clearly describes the world of the mercenary soldier from a man who has been there and done that. The writing is a bit awkward, but the story is believable and intriguing. Well worth the read.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A very good novel--it's probably the first fiction I've been sufficiently interested ...By David T. HardyA very good novel--it's probably the first fiction I've been sufficiently interested in to read in over a year. The author's experience and background gives him a leg up on most writers of this genre -- he's been a merc himself, probably the only merc with a doctorate from the London School of Economics and who went on to teach foreign relations at Georgetown University.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. You won't be able to put this one down!By Jane S. KirschnerI could not put Sean's book down, staying awake way past my normal bedtime to finish it, so my husband can read it before I share it with my Army son! Fast paced writing, suspense... Sean McFate is hopefully going to share his mercenary experiences again and again with us in the future! Can't wait for his next novel, and please send me his first, non-fiction book today!
